Access information

We want everyone to feel welcome at Lloyd and Platt and Kamera Ballroom and we’re always working to make the place as accessible as we can – even with a building that’s been here since 1870. You’ll find all the access info you need below but if you have any other questions, just give us a shout. We’re more than happy to help.

All access queries can be directed to:

We usually aim to respond to emails in two working days, however for more urgent enquiries please call the venue directly on 07851410213 and the on-shift bar manager will be able to help you.

Venue description

The downstairs bar is accessible with level access to the street. There aren’t dedicated lowered bar areas but if you require one, you’re welcome to use the side entrance of the bar near the kitchen hatch. Our bar staff can serve you from there too.

There’s also an accessible toilet on this floor.

The main music venue, however, is up a wide flight of stairs which has 15 steps and a handrail on the right-hand side.

For more information on listings, check out the other pages on the website. If you need it in another format, just drop us a line and we’ll try our best to help.

Travel guide

Getting a taxi to us? Don’t worry – you can be dropped off and picked up right outside.

It’s only a 7-minute walk to the Chorlton metrolink stop too, as well as on a lot of bus routes.

For more info on accessible local transport options, head over to the Transport for Greater Manchester Journey Planner (which can be found here). Manchester City Council also offer a searchable database of disabled parking bays here.

Bookable access facilities and how to apply

If you have a personal assistant, free tics are available – just contact the event’s promoter or the venue directly so we can sort something out.

Some events may be standing only but chairs are available on request. We can also put them at the front so you can see the stage. Contact us directly to arrange this.

If you have already organised seating, feel free to arrive 15 minutes before doors so you can sit down without going through the crowd.

Queue jump is also available for customers who require it.

Arrival guide

Our bar staff are your first port of call when you get here. They’re fully clued up on accessibility and more than happy to help with anything you need. If you’ve booked a seat or requested anything in advance, they’ll know about it and can point you in the right direction.

Just a heads up – tickets for events are sorted by the promoters, not us. Most of the time, there’ll be a box office or someone on the door to help when you arrive at the venue.

Toilets

An accessible toilet is available on the ground floor, just behind the kitchen.

Customers with medical requirements

If you need to bring medication, medical equipment or your own food and drink to manage a health condition, that’s absolutely fine. No need to ask. But if you’ve got any concerns or want to chat things through ahead of time, drop us a line.

Access to performance

At the moment, we don’t have any specific access provisions for performance.

Assistance dogs

Assistance dogs are more than welcome in both the venue and the bar. If your four-legged pal needs a drink, just ask a member of staff – we’ll happily sort some water for them.

Strobe lighting

Some performances may include strobe lighting or flashing visuals. If that’s something you need to be aware of, get in touch with us before the show – we’ll let you know what to expect.
